Sharp VL-AH151U - no sound
I have a Sharp Viewcam model #VL-AH151U. It records video, but the audio does not work. One day it just stopped working. Sharp recommended a service center in my area. The guy at the service center told me he ordered a part for it - a chip. It took two weeks to get it. He said he tried the chip, but that did not correct the problem. Now he has ordered a processor and says the part costs $55. Does anyone know if this part does indeed affect the sound on the camera? I figured it was the microphone or a connection or something minor. A processor sounds like something that would do more than just affect the sound. I know this camera is equiped with a micro processor, but I don't want to pay for anything except what is needed to fix the sound. There is nothing wrong with anything else on the camera. It has never been abused, dropped, nothing. This service guy is slow and quite frankly, ordering parts and seeing if they solve the problem makes me feel like this guy has no idea what the problem is, he's just guessing and hoping something works. I have had to chase this guy with phone calls too. He says he'll call me and never does. I'm getting pretty fed up. What was suppposed to take "a couple of days" is now going on three weeks and I'd like to have my camera back before Christmas! Thank you for any ideas you might have.
