Pinnacle Studio 10

Has anyone used this software to edit scenes together and make dvd's. I am using a Sony SR100 HDD camcorder. I downloaded the trial version but I don't think it lets you use your movie files in the trial version. If anyone has used this software or knows about it, please give me your impression of the software. I would like some opinions before I buy it. Thanks!

i very much like using it. i've found it very easy to use.

however two issues. 'Sound out of sync' and 'transparent bars'

version 10.6 didn't have the transparent bars that the video suffers in 10.7. the transparent bars are akin to looking at your video through lead glass, patturned in horizontal bars. now hopefully there's a way of correcting this but i haven't invesitgated properly yet.

however these bars are only mostly apparent when you set the bitarate high 8000. at 6000 the video is acceptable.

'out of sync' occurs sporadically in 10.6. i've upgraded to 10.7 and edited a couple of things and been fine...so far.

And i've tried Ulead and had the same sound problems.

Hi,

I've used Studio 7 and all the upgrades to Studio 10.7. I've tried a couple of other editing programs, and for the price and simplicity of use, I haven't found anything that really compares. It does have it's glitches, but Avid does a pretty good job of creating patches to rectify problems. Studio seems to have the widest array of transitions etc to give you quite a few options when editing your clips together.

Hope this helps,

Studio

HI !

I use Studio 10.1. Works completely flawless.
I have a long history of using pinnacle products and it hasn't been all roses. Former versions (i.e. 7.x) had some issues with certain ATI cards and the stepups (v8.x and 9.x) were somewhat half made attempts to close the gaps. The 10.x build is by far the most stable build Pinnacle made. It helps - of course - that PC's has grown as well as the software. I'd go for Pinnacle anytime (though I'd just been provided with MotionDV with my new Pana NV-GS230).
