Picture Package problem? Hi, newbie here!
I'm trying to burn onto dvd a movie I have just edited on the computer with the Picture Package software. My camcorder will not accept my discs, it keeps telling me to insert a new disc into camcorder. I have DVD+RW, I have tried several discs. I have formatted them. I have also made copies of discs successfully before. I got on live chat with sony and after about an hr. they gave me a link to Picture Package website saying it was their problem. There was no way to contact anyone on the page they gave me ! From what I've read on here that software stinks, but am I doing something wrong? After paying so much for the cam and accessories I hate to have to buy new software too. Can I do anything with the Windows Movie Maker that came with my computer? I was soooo loving my new camera until this......can someone please help ?!
TIA!

Update on situation, can anyone help?
Well just got off the phone with the Picture Package ppl. First they had me uninstall, then re-install the software. That didn't work so they told me to try DVD-RW insead of the DVD+RW I'm using. They said the software works better with these discs. Does that make sense? I hate to spend more $$ buying discs when they aren't really sure if that is the problem. I'm about ready to take the camera back to the store , nobody can seem to help me. Can anyone please help or refer me to someone who can. I'd REALLY appreciate it!!!

Your experience with Picture Package is about par for the course. I tried to do the same thing as you when I first got my Sony DVD203, and I also never got it to work (I was using -RW), and also PP kept crashing. I cut my losses, got a DVD burner for my PC and Womble mpeg wizard. I just finalise my DVD, put it in the PC DVD drive and import it into Womble, edit the clip, save it as an mpeg2 file, then author and burn a full size DVD with NeroVision. Lately I have been using Ulead VideoStudio 10+ as well, which does everything in one go. You might want to consider one of these editing packages and a DVD burner in your PC. It will save you a lot of frustration.
Regards, Mike
