105 as a CameraMonitor

Hi all...I have the 105 hook to a DVD recorder. How do I stop the advertising from kicking in after about 10 minutes? My intention was to record directly to DVD recorder, but the cam's features appear on screen. Any advice?

I don’t know what you mean by advertising information; but if you mean like CAM DATA or DATE DATA can be turned off during the VCR playback mode by going to FN (Pg.2). Or if your DVDR has firewire input, when transfer your video, the DVDR will not show data code. On the other hand, if you transfer as an analog such as S-Video or composite will show the data code if you do not turn it off.

Thanks for the quick responce.
Basically, I had the cam hooked into a DVD recorder, which would allow me to record the New Years Eve events at home without having to change cam discs every 30 minutes. After a few minutes, while viewing the TV with the cam on, the cam's features and capabillities appear on screen. This includes lenz info, night vision, stability, battery data, and more. I set the cam to 'picture' mode, and the problem seems to be gone. I haven't found any info in the manual...but I'm willing to bet I simply overlooked it.
Thanks again, M.

Because you mentioned that it records 30 minutes, that cued me into that you may be talking about a DVD camcorder, DCR DVD105. This is a Sony DCR PC105 Forum, so what I said about the mini DV camcorder may not be operative.

I downloaded DVD 105 manual. It says the DATA CODE, which is default on can be turned off during the playback; however, the information is automatically recorded into the disk during the recording. (Pg. 28, 82, 84) This is similar to Sony mini DV camcorders but the data information is not viewable, when you hook up directly to the TV or DVD recorder with DATA CODE off.

You may want this question redirected in the Sony DVD camcorder forum for further update if my information does not apply to the DVD camcorders.
