I've had my TRV-950 since late 02 but recently I've felt I'd like to improve the quality of my camera's audio by attaching a better quality external mic to the camera's "intelligent shoe".

Despite a thorough search I have been unable to find any reference to a mic that is able to take advantage of this facility on the 950. That may be because the camera is now quite old and the supply of accessories has dried up. There are "smart shoe" mics out there, of course, but only to fit the new smaller-sized accessory shoe that Sony has introduced on their more recent cameras.

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has info on a Sony mic that will mate with the 950's Intelligent shoe.
