firewire connection issue
I have a DCR-PC100 and am trying to connect to a Dell Precision M90 notebook (running Windows XP Pro) which has a built in 4-wire 1394 port. I am connecting with a 4-pin to 4-pin cable. I cannot get the camera to be recognized. It is not reconized in Windows, nor on Movie Maker, or several other software packages. It does not show up on device manager, nor under "cameras" on the Control Panel. I have tried turning on the camcorder in both "camera" and "VCR" modes.
I have tried turning on the camera first, and also turning on the computer first. For the moment, I cannot find the AC adapter for my camera. Does anybody know if the firewire port on the camera is active only when AC power is connected? Any other thoughts?
