P2 card memory fragmenting -a problem?

Has anyone experienced any problems with P2 cards in terms of performance when the data becomes fragmented? For example: you record a bunch of short clips, then delete several to free up memory. Can you still record a longer clip that uses all the available memory even though it is not contiguous memory? ei, is there a possibility for the P2 card to glitch if it's memory is fragmented?

Interesting question I hadn't considered in my use of the P2s.
But my GUESS would be the same kind of 'fragmenting' we get when clip is recorded as two files of two separate P2s.

So you'd get as many separate files for a clip as it took to fill the need, recorded in separate 'pieces' on the card(s') empty spaces.
Aside from the two-file result and need to recognize and join them, I've never lost a frame when a clip jumped from one P2 to the next.

It would be an interesting test to set up, if only we all had the free time.
