Frames being dropped

When transferring the files from my camcorder to PC (using Picure Package) I noticed that a frame that appeared on the camcorder screen in play back mode has not been picked up by Picture Package. I've tried a few things one of which is to set the USB speed on the camera to High speed rather than Auto (as suggested by the manual) but this doesn't seemed to have worked.

This has happened on more than one of my discs but not all. On one of the discs 4 frames out of 20 were dropped for no apparent reason. I can view the frames fine on the camcorder itself.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

Why are using USB to transfer video? You should finalize your disc and stick it in your dvd drive of your computer and then use picture package to extract the clips. Also you are using the wrong terminology so I dont know what you are experiencing. There is no such thing as dropped frames in a file copy process, dropped frames are a problem that happens when you capture video from a tape based cam. With a dvd cam there is no capture process. The mpeg2 video that your cam produces is played back at 30 (29.97) frames per second so you would not be able to see 4 frames being dropped in 2/3 of 1 second (using the information you provided about 4 frames in 20). So other than using your dvd drive to transfer the clips I can't give you any more advice at this point.

Have already tried finalizing the disc and putting it into the Pc's DVD drive. Picture Package can't see the same 'missing' mpeg2 video file using this method either.

Would the clip you not seeing as being transferred happen to be the very last clip? If it is that is not a video clip. It is a photo movie that your cam has turned into what looks like a movie from the still pictures that are on the disc. Next time you finalize you can go into the menu otions and turn photo movie off and you will not see it when viewed from your cam.

No the clip is the 4th one out of 16 and it is definitely a video and not a still.
