XL1 with MA-100 adaptor???????

I recently bought a MA-100 XLR adaptor for my XL1, and I'm having trouble getting it to work properly.

For one, It doesn't seem that the red and white audio cables do ANYTHING. The only reason I seem to be getting any sound through the MA100 is because of the tiny little DC out terminal on the back of the handle (audio 1 on the camera). Once I unplug this cable, I get zero sound, even if both the red and white are plugged in. How do I activate the red and white audio inputs???

Since I can't get the audio inputs to work for audio 1 on the camera, I certainly can't get anything to work for audio 2 (which has no DC out). Even after going into the settings and switching to 12bit ST 1,2, then switching audio 2 to "Mic," I get nothing.

Ideally, I would like to run a wireless mic through the MA-100, in combination with the on-camera mic. Is this a possibility?

Using the DC out terminal, I can get the MA-100 to work, but having only one wireless mic plugged in to one of the ports on the MA-100, I only get sound through one channel. Does it not balance it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I dont even know where to start!!!

Thanks,

Dave
