Manfrotto 055MF4 good choice for GZ-HD7

I went to a local camera shop today to look at tripods. I want to get something nice that is not too heavy but also very sturdy and that will be good for a lot of outdoor video shooting(mountains, canyons, etc.).

I really liked the feel and the stability of the Manfrotto 055MF4 which runs about $330 on Amazon. I have already ordered the 701RC2 head that I was thinking about pairing with this tripod.

Is there any reason I shouldn't get this one. I don't see it listed as video specific so am I making a mistake? I did check out the cheaper aluminum190xb but didn't think it was as stable and felt pretty light, even though they were about the same weight, I guess flimsy compared to the 055MF4.

Anyway I am really new to this so let me know if I am making a mistake here.

At B&H's site it's categorized as a still cam tripod but I don't know why. I have the Bogen 3221WN (aka Manfrotto 055BWB) which they call their "wilderness" tripod. I guess that's because of the (relatively) light weight (but I wouldn't want to lug it very far!) and the retractable spikes in the legs. You might consider that.

Good luck.

Dennis

PS: Upon further exploration, I see several (at least) tripods listed at B&H as both still and camcorder tripods. I think they just have them in multiple categories. I wouldn't be concerned about the model you're thinking of. In truth, it's the head that is more likely to be made for still or video photography.
