PD170 battery problems

I just bought a new pd 170 and a series 7 battery kit with 2 batteries, adapter, and charger. I went to use the camera with the series 7 battery after I charged it and the camera turned on then a screen came up and said "Only for use with infolithium battery" then the camera turned off. Has any one else experienced this? Is there any way to fix it or do I need to have the camera replaced? Any help would be great because I leave in 7 days for arizona and I need my camera. Thanks

-Josh

Sounds more like the batteries are not compatible. Are they actual Sony batteries, or 3rd party? The message you see seems to imply that the camera is unable to read various battery attributes.

Does the camera work directly with the AC adapter?

See if any battery contacts on the camera are stuck or mis-aligned...
