Panasonic VDR-M50PP dvd copy problem
I have a dvd that I recorded in my m50 camcorder. I want to edit and copy it, but haven't been able to figure out how to with the provided software. When I go into dvd movie album, I get the edit "the disc in drive J (the usb drive into which the camera is plugged) cannot be used. (Format type: UDF 1.5) Set AV format (UDF 2.0) 4.7GB DVD-Ram disc to the DVD-Ram drive. I have Windows XP media center edition with an AMD Athlon 64 processor. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I have to do to get this dvd edited and copied? Please???

Finalize the DVD, take it out of the camera, and put it into the computer DVD drive (what, you don't have a DVD reader in the computer? <G>)
The computer wants to treat the camera as a DVD-RAM drive, and it probably doesn't support that.

Yes, I have a dvd drive and can watch the video in Windows Media Player, but I can't edit or copy. The dvd has been finalized on the camera. Windows Media Center, where I should be able to edit and copy says that I have to change the camera's usb setting to disk drive.

I'm suggesting you don't even connect the camera. Put the finalized disk in your computer drive, and open it as a data directory (not play it)... Find out what format the files are on the disk, and try to copy them to the hard drive of the computer.
They didn't spend much time scanning the manual to make a PDF, did they... half the pages can't be read...
What type of disk are you using in the camera? DVD-R or DVD-RAM?
Based on what I saw in the manual, you can only import over USB using DVD-RAM, and you can burn over USB using DVD-R.
