Time code not working on PD-150

The time code on one of my PD-150's has stopped counting. It just displays all zero's.

I have tried reseting but to no avail.

Anyone ever run into this one before?

Thanks,
Brad

Is it possible someone has switched your TC display to USER BITS?

Confusing phrase... Does that mean UserBits display is off (time is on), or UserBits are on (time is off)?

Stray thought -- clock back-up battery didn't go dead, did it (presuming the camera uses a small disk battery for clock)

I'm not sure about this -- I'm looking at the V1 manual, which should be similar -- but UB TIME REC is only for deciding what format the UB will take -- either real time (ON) or not (OFF).

I think you need to go to a different menu to check -- the TC/UB DISP menu in which you choose either TC or U-BIT. It's not an on/off thing. One quick way to tell should be whether there are colons between the double zeroes. If not, it's on UB, if yes, it's TC. All unchanging zeroes with no colons would be consistent with TC/UB DISP set to U-BIT and UB TIME REC set to OFF.

Again, this is based on the V1, but Sony is pretty consistent about these things...

The TC is separated by colons.

My guess is that something is broken.

Ok, time to eat a little crow here...

I went back and checked, and sure enough, there were NOT any colons separating the 00's.

So... I went back and started poking around and found a button under the flip-out LCD screen labeled "TCU/U-BIT", pushed the button, and, DOH!! Problem resolved.

So thanks to the wisdom of acgold7, and for sharing that wisdom with the likes of me

-Brad

I'm just glad you figured it out; it was driving me crazy.

If it's a hard button under the viewscreen, I could see where it would be really easy to hit it and not even know it.

Thanks for posting the solution. Might help someone else in the same situation.
