HVR-V1U Audio issue

I have been using a Lectrosonic CR 175 wireless with my camera...the audio levels are low which I have adjusted both on the wireless and on the xlr on the camera. The audio levels look ok around the 6-7 range. When I dump the video into my FCP...there is a hiss to the audio and I have to bump up the audio even more on the timeline. I have had the wireless tuned up...and I have also tried this with a hard wire--same thing. Has anyone had a similar issue?

Sorry.. I can't help you out... but when you say the levels are good when recording, is that just 'visually'? or does it also sound good via headphones or something?

I know I haven't had much luck pluging an external mic to my hdr-hc1, but might have been the connectors I was using (going from xlr->field recorder ->hdr-hc1 mic in) I'd get a lot of white-noise, when listening with my earphones plugged into the camera.

(the audio in the field recorder was good though)
