Out of Focus

I am beginning to pay more attention to my recordings and realised that most of the subject in the centre eg my little kid, always seems a bit soft, the surrounding appears sharper than the subject in the centre. Is there something I have overlooked? I thought similar to an autofocus camera, the centre portion is where the focussing is and should be the sharpest.
Or is it time to send for servicing?

Thanks in advance!

Michael

Have a read of the thread below and alo take a look at the manual in the area of focusing options.
