I had bought a camera bag almost exactly like what you are talking about from Wal-mart probably less than a year ago. This bag was for my Panasonic PV-GS 400, although it still had enough room that it could have fit around a Canon XH A1. If not, there were larger sizes. This thing had pockets and zippers practically falling off of it, yet they were always convenient and easy to access. There was even a place in there that I was able to keep my user manual and a pocket that fit about 8 mini DVs. This thing cost me about $19. It was amazingly padded and seemed super safe. I would tell you what it is called, but my camcorder, case, and all the accessories that I kept in it were stolen a few months ago when my house was broken into. If I ever get myself a new camcorder (XH A1, if you are listening Camera-God) I will definitely check for this bag again. I believe the bag was made by Case Logic...

Try larger department stores like Kohls, Macy's, Sears, ect. They are always having luggage sales. I picked up 2 top end carry-on bags marked down from $200 to $49. I Lined it with some foam and fabric from Michaels Sewing store and added velcro compartments.

What I like is that it looks like run of the mill luggage....nothing to clue in a valuable camera is inside.
