Educational Discount for Premier Pro

Note that I am a moderator of this site. This is not a spam posting.

Many people don't know that they qualify for educational discounts.

As of this writing, households with a full or part time college student, high school student (including home schooled) as well as a high school teacher can get Premier Pro CS3 for $340.

There are a number of educational discount houses online. I don't want to promote one above the other, so do a Google search on "academic software."

Also note that the educational price for the Full CS3 Production Suite Premium is $599 from Adobe, $589 at a popular educational SW retailer, compared to the retail price of $799 for an upgrade from CS2 or $1699 complete.

I already have CS2 but I bought a full new CS3 for my high-schooler because it was cheaper than the upgrade price (I believe that the packages themselves are identical).

Is Adobe Educational software upgradable?

Does anyone know if the Adobe Educational packages are completely upgradable? Microsoft does educational packages too but they will not allow for upgrades to the package when a new version comes out. So a few years down the road, when you are out of school and no longer have access to educational discounts, you have to buy a complete retail package to upgrade to the newest version. Its just another one of those Microsoft gotcha things. Hope that's not the case with Adobe.

I don't know if this is a case of dredging up old posts, but you can upgrade with the educational version. I Purchased that the Creative Suite with PP2 and the rest. We paid around $200 for the ability to upgrade within the next 2 years. Of course the version we initially got didn't have a lot of the templates that were in the trial version. But CS3 which we upgraded to has everything.
