CS3: Adobe Media Encoder won't encode to wmv, why?
I'm not quite certain exactly what I did that resulted in this, but the problem I'm having is that when I try to export footage from Premiere CS3 it will only output to Quicktime or RealMedia.
What happends is that the encoding-window appears for about a second, before I get an error message saying that it can't write to that format.
Any ideas about why this is or more importantly, how I could fix this?
Any wild theories or crazy ideas are welcome.
I hate it when I can't figure out a problem...

This might not be it, but Adobe has been releasing updates on CS3 rather continuously. I'd do a clean reinstall and then make sure you update.
Also, Vista is known to not work and play well with others... yet...

Let me clarify.
Adobe Media Encoder won't let me encode to wmv ANYMORE!
It USED TO be able to export to .wmv format, but then I did something, probably while installing codecs left and right to try and fix the pulldown-thingie with my HV20, and now it's screwed up.
How can I try to un-screw this up? Where can I find some codec that I could pack into the system that might shock this into working again?
Re-installing just feels like way too much of a hassle and not even that foolproof, since the problem wasn't caused by the program itself.

Get .wmv from .avi with free Windows Media Encoder
Simple solution for Premiere CS3 users: Have the (free MS download)Windows Media Encoder convert .avi to .wmv
