the GS 300 review lists "The worst news to report here is that the GS300 has lost the ability to perform analog to digital conversion. This hits fairly hard on the usability front and will lose a lot of fans" in one part.

It does not have analog inputs so you could not for example connect a helmet cam to the camcorder or use it to convert analog video like from a VHS VCR.
