This probably won't solve your problem since your power cable won't make your camera work either but have you tried cleaning the battery contacts and the power connector? Metal can corrode over time causing a loss of connection between the battery and the camera or the power cable and the plug. There should be instructions on cleaning the connectors in the manual. I light metal brush of some sort could clean them easy enough but you'll want to be very careful with this. Possibly just putting the battery on and taking it off many times could clean the connections enough to make it work. It's just like a stereo cable where you have to unplug it and plug it back in several times to get it to work again sometimes.

Since both things stopped working at the same time this isn't likely going to fix your problem but it's worth a shot. My guess is that you're going to need to take it to a repair shop. It's a decent camera with features that are hard to come by at a decent price these days so I would suggest not giving up on it too easy. Not many cameras these days still have mic connectors and headphone connectors and manual focus adjustment and manual white balance adjustment like the Optura 30. Yes it may cost a good bit to fix your problem but if you price other cameras with the features you have in the Optura you might not think it's so expensive after all.
