46mm to Bayonet

Is there such a device that will convert the 46mm thread on the JVC GZ HD7 to a bayonet thread on a 35mm camera lens so that you can get Depth of Field?

Thanks

Uhm...

35mm SLRs have entire lenses that are removable. Most camcorder lenses are NOT removable (the $9000 Canon, uh, XL H1? being an exception). 46mm is a /filter/ thread

DoF is dependent upon the focal length of the lens. Due to the small size of camcorder sensors, the focal length for a "non telephoto" view is very short -- if you look at the specs, many cameras have lenses that run from less than 5mm (wide) to 50+mm (10X+ range telephoto). "Normal" perspective for a 35mm film SLR IS 50mm. If you could put a 50mm SLR lens on a camcorder (removing its lens) you would be shooting at the equivalent of a 400mm SLR telephoto.

That said, I believe there have been a few posts here&there of some sort of rather expensive adapter box that works by mounting the SLR lens in front, and "projecting" (I think) the SLR lens image onto a screen (ground glass) which the camcorder lens is then focused upon. Said box being larger than most consumer camcorders.
