I'm an idiot when it comes to anything to do with my camer, so it would be pretty snazzy if someone could help me.

My camera doesn't have anything to hook a usb cable to, or a place to put a memory card. When I bought the camera I asked the guy about how I was supposed to put my videos on my computer or play them in a dvd player and he said "Oh you can just pop the disk right into your computer or whatever and it will work."

Well I record my first video, but can't play it in the dvd player or put it on my computer. No big deal, I can figure it out. The manual says something about initializing the disk. The thing is I can't initialize it...like it won't let me click on the option.

Needless to say, Emily = frustrated.

You "initialize" RW type disks to erase them in preparation for recording new data.

You "finalize" a disk to make it readable on other equipment.

Well I lurked around here and realized that to finalize my disk I had to hook it to my camera charger...

I FINALLY get my video and pictures onto the computer, but for some reason it will only play a few seconds of my video. I went to the Canon website and what I can gather is that my computer isn't set up to play my video. So I downloaded a free trial of this video editing software and it will play my videos in a tiny little box, but won't let me import them onto the actual editor. It should not be this hard!

I'm just about to hulk smash the guy who sold this to me because he didn't tell me any of this.
