Optura 40 with Win Vista

Does Optura 40 work with a Win Vista PC? I have firewire correctly installed on the PC. When I plug the camera, the system does not recognize it. I tried toggling from record to play and all, but no results. Am I missing on any step?

Thanks

Check the device manager to see if you have missing drivers. If you do, right click and update the driver.

Checked it out, the manager is not showing any missing device.

Thanks

Did you try using a different firewire cable or a different computer?

Will have to try that. But this set of card, cable and PC was workable on XP. Also canon site does not list any Vista driver for Optura 40, does it mean no support for Vista?

You shouldn't need to install any driver. It should take care of it itself. So don't worry. There must me something else. It is not an optura problem caused by vista. I am using vista for nearly 1,5 years and even with the BETA verison I didn't have any problems with my elura 90 camcorder. Now I am using both my elura 90 and HV20 without any problems.

I tried on another vista PC, with it's own Firewire but with my present cable. It did not help.
