Should I upgrade the TRV30?

I currently own a TRV30 which apparantly can shoot in widescreen. I bought the camera in 2001 and I think it takes a cropped video. Would I get better quality video with a HC96 or Panny GS320?

The CCD-Chip is twice the size of the TRV30 - i think you will get better quality.
