minidv fps

Hello guys, I am courios of how many fps a minidv camcorder record videos on minidv tapes.
My question comes from the fact that I am wondering if my sports , fast change of focus, videos , taken by a minidv pc55 and then editd for slow motion, could come out better than videos shot using a sony dscl1 digital camera.
I know that a dscl1 records videos at 30fps, and they seemg in general very clear.
What about the sony pc55 minidv fps ??

thank u

PAL MiniDV camcorders record at 25 frames per second (fps) and NTSC MiniDV camcorders record at 29.97 fps. They are both normally interlaced.

Hi Poncho,
the digitasl vidoe camera and the mini dv, both records at 29.97fps.
My simple question is:

Is the pc55 sony minidv 29.97fps better or the same in quality as my digital camera sony dscl1 video recording at 29.97 ??
More in general, both are 29.97fps, why a person would chose to buy a minidv instead of a digital camera ??

thank u so much for helpiing me in understanding

It has very little to do with the frame rate. The Frame rate is part of the display standard.

You have both cameras and you are asking which one is better? Which one has better quality?

Does your digital camera record high quality video for 80 minutes?

Can you zoom you digital camera while you record?

How does the audio sound with your digital camera?

Does your digital camera have good color lattitude.

Does your digital camera have good auto focus?
