Thumbs up my experiance with dc20

i bought my dc20 back in june 2006 being my first dvd recorder after unpacking and putting together i was ready
the shop gave me a disk a dvd-r after playing about with the disk recording ect i had problems with never useing a dvd-r again so i bought a dvd-rw then things got alot better then i wanted to put on my hard drive i instaled the my roxio and connected the recorder then a problem my dma was turned off i googled and got that sorted so off again got the files off my dc20 into roxio now roxio is not the best of tools to edit or make a movie just basic unless i spent dosh to get a better roxio so i saved the files these files vro are good for nothing you can't play on media player or upload them to you tube
so i got a freebie a converter super c this enabled me to put the files into avi format so now i have files that i can use i used to use windows movie maker but after putting in over 54 files it often comes up we need to close so i ditched that and use cyberlink power director to make my movies and burn with nero i use hp photsmart all in one to transfer my still photos to my hard drive i never instaled canon software
looking back i wish canon had gave us a dvd of how to use the dc20 and detail instrutions overhaul i like the dc20 i bought a second battery and a better lens and have made over 80 short films i'm clad that i never bought a sony as friends often come round with the mini disk giveing me thier problems hope this is off some use

Hi
I don't know the DC20 but it should be possible to switch between Video and VR mode. VR mode creates the VRO files while video mode creates the standard VOB files that will play in every DVD player.
If you are interesting in that then you should search your owner's manual for the video modes.
