I had pretty much decided on the Panasonic, but recently have been having second thoughts. I know that Best Buy is going to have the Sony for $450 after Thanksgiving. Any thoughts from users of the two camcorders, or anyone who has researched them? The price for the Pansonic at Best Buy is $699. I have seen it for about $550 from some of the various internet sites, but am a bit scared to buy from them. Thanks in advance for any help.

I bought the Panasonic SDR-H200 from OneCall.com back in August. The process was as smooth as can be. Absolutely no problems. I got the camera for $565 + shipping, and I see it's down to $550 now. Beach Camera is also supposed to be pretty reputable with low prices. B&H Photo is an extremely reputable site. I've been to their store in Manhattan a couple of times. Some people who are serious photo/video people swear by them.

As for the comparison to the Sony, I can't help you there. I like the Panny, but I'm a newbie point and shooter, so my needs could be very different from yours.
