Hitachi and Digital 8?
Are there any Hitachi D8 camcorders out there that one can use to convert old analog 8mm and hi8 tapes via firewire?

Hitachi marketed a few Digital8 camcorders in the past but they don't make them any more and I don't know if the would play back 8mm or Hi8 tapes.

Sony manufactured the majority of Digital8 camcorders.
