Have you ever transferred video successfully before?

Just curious what software are you using, try WinDV. I use WinDV to do the transfer of video. DVIO is another good utility. They are both easy; small; free and do not use a lot of computer resources: Easy Capture Program

You might try a head cleaning tape.

No I haven't been succesful ever. Every so often I try to because I think maybe I was doing something wrong the last time I tried....but I get the same results. I have 4 years of minidv's that I want to get to DVD. I have tried many different programs for capture and the one you see on the youtube clip is from WinDV. I don't think it is a head cleaning issue, because playback on the lcd screen or from the outputs to my TV are fine.

It could be your cable.

It could be your computer.

If WinDV and DVIO do not work then I doubt any other software will help.

I would try you camcorder on another computer. That would be the easiest and fastest way.

What version of Windows are you using? Anything befor XP might be some problems.
