Building a new Editing Computer - Suggestions PLease

What should I put in it?

My current computer is:

Abit AS8 Motherboard
Intel 3.4 LGA775
2 Gigs pc3200
1 40 gig sata system drive
1 300 Gig sata storage Drive
1 320 Gig sata storage Drive
1 300 Gig Pata Removeable drive
1 Radeon 9550 256 MB Graphics AGP
1 Nvivdia Geforce FX5200 256 MB Graphics PCI
Osprey 210 Capture Card
RealMagic MPEG2 Decoder
SATA adapter card
ABIT Uguru Front Panel
Optiarc 16X DVD Burner.
Sony DVMC-DA1
3 Philips Brilliance 201P CRT Monitors
I have all kinds of cooling fans on it and the computer is mounted in a rack cabinet

Granted a lot of it will t ravel over to the new computer. This one is a bit sluggish on rendering and I wanted to go to quad core but was curious what others might recommend.

Ok Let me rephrase it. What is your editing computer and how does it run?

Smile Editing Computer

In trying to render reasonably fast with Adobe Premiere Pro 2 or CS3 I found the following factors important (in order of impact):

1) CPU(s) should be dual core or better dual quad core >3GHz
2) Two high RPM, e.g. 15K HDs in RAID 0 config
3) 2 or better 4 GB DDR2 800MHz or more

Motherboard/front bus, video capture card etc. should be matched to the above fast components.

Good Luck.

I do appreciate your reply.

I'm working on building the system.

I think it is going to be an abit ab9 quadgt, intel q6600 quad core at 2.4
I have the 2 gigs of pc6400 and right now I have a ati 2600xt 56 pci-e graphics card.

Do I really need the raid? I have the 3 separate drives.

I"m going to keep this computer for whatever or regular use.

Should I go to lcd or stick to the crt monitors?
