I have a Hitachi DZ-MV550. I am in the market for a portable shoe mount video light. Any recommendations (Brands, bulb vs. LED, etc.)? From what I understand, the shoe mount lights are universal (correct me if I am wrong).

Will the video light accessory potentially ruin or enhance the quality of the video in low light? I am looking for a distance of 10-30 feet with the light to enhance the entire environment, not just the target subjects.

I use my device mostly for family events. I just want to see my daughter in her dance recital.
