I purchased a used Elura 2MC to use with a helmet cam. The problem is that I need to have the camcorder in a waterproof enclosure. From reading the users manual it appears that the camera needs to be in VCR mode to record video from an external camera. I would need to open the homemade waterproof enclosure to turn the power on and off.

I have ordered a LANC, but do not know if it will power on the Elura 2MC and put the camera in VCR mode for recording. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this camera and LANC.

I do not know if I am going to need to put a switch between the battery and camcorder, and leave the camera in VCR mode, if I want to power the camcorder on/off without opening the case.
