Question Adapter to Convert Tripod Socket to Accessory Shoe

I bought this Camcorder for Christmas along with this External Microphone. The camcorder has a jack for the external microphone, but no accessory shoe to attach it to. So, I'd really like to find an adapter like this one to convert the tripod socket to an accessory shoe, but I can't find anyone who sells the adapter! Do you have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Cannot answer your question, but I have a different advice. How about an L-shaped adapter, the whole thing will look something like this:

If you will be purchasing a tripod as well, you can attach the L-bracket to the tripod quick-release plate like this:

Well, I am not sure about the latter setup, it works for me because the tripod socket on my Elura 100 is close to the front side of the camcorder. It may not work for the ZR 800.

jusgre that little adaptor thingy is exactly what I want too! Thanks for this post, I will so searching for it. I would feel a bit of a banana going out in public with an L bracket contraption LOL (even if it did provide beter mic isolation and a tripod mount and better grip.)
