Light for HC96?

I have two camcorders, a HC3 and HC96.
For new years I'm not going to bring the HD camcorder out whil eeveryone is drinking and tossing beer all over the place. So the 96 has been elected.
As much as I love the nightshot and making everyone look like a Martian, I would like to get a light. Hopefully one that plugs into the hot shoe on top of the camera.
Now just a heads up, when I use the nightshot some of the light is blocked by the wide angle lens I use (Sony VCL 0630X). I don't like overzooming. Over Christmas in the family rooms of others' houses even a 0.6X wasn't wide enough to avoid constantly swinging all over the place.
