Hitachi DZ-GX5080A In Car mounting.

This Hitachi is a new DVD-R recorder. I have two things I am trying to do.
I need to mount it to my rollbar, or a plate of some sort mounted to the bar of my Corvette. Now, the suspension is stiff, and I want to record during auto crossing. I heard DVD's don't record well due to skipping easily.
The new camera has EIS, but the jerking etc when running is going to have me make a mount that is pretty steady.
Any suggestions?
Also, if the camera has AV output, can I shoot the signal to an external recorder of some sort?

Won't something mounted to your rollbar make for very jerky/jumpy video? I would have thought you would want some kind of shock absorbing mechanism so the cam doesn't bounce around as much as the car. I think it might be hard on viewers to watch the video.

Yes, but you will still get jumpy video as the car will still transmit all the movement to the cam. You solve the DVD skipping problem, though.

Good luck.
