Stills while recording video?

I read a review of the A1 that said you can shoot a still while recording video. Is this true or a typo? Every time I try, it gives me an error. I have a card in the camera, is there something else I need to do?

Format your card and also check to make sure the little erase prevention slider on your SD card is not preventing you from recording.

You need to change a custom function setting too

See page 84 of the manual under the section 08 "[SIMUL.IMG.REC] Simultaneous Recording Of A Still Image". You need to set the setting to "02 - ON + CP DATA"
