Adobe Premiere Elements 4

Is anyone using Adobe Premiere Elements 4? I'm planning on downloading their trial version, but part of their web site is down at present. I was wondering if this editing software would work ok with .m2ts files produced by the CX7. Anybody out there tried this software?

I have that program and have not used it yet for my AVCHD .m2ts files. It was able to convert and import some blu-ray files though. I'll test and let you know.

Great Software

I have been using the sofware for a few weeks now and love it. very easy to use and very stable. I have used about 7 diffeent softwares and this is my overall favorite for 90% of the consumers doig video editing for home use. Also works great with HDD camcorders unlike the previous versions. I find some of the best picture quality for the mpg4 format compared to a lot of other software.

I don't think it can import m2ts files.

Adobe Premier Elements 4

I have been using it to import .mt2s files, edit and burn AVCHD DVDs.
I have also imorted files from my HDV camcorder and burnt Blu-Ray disc which plays back perfectly on my Samsung player.
I have not burnt a Blu-Ray disc from .mt2s files since AVCHD DVDs are much cheaper and work just fine.
However, I am planning to try burning one.
I have also converted HiDef video to output as Reg Def and made DVDs.
The software is easy to use and intuitive. Only compaint is that it takes a long time the first time you are down loading video files.
Best luck.

I am using Adobe Premiere since more than 10 years, currently CS3 as well as Premiere Elements. Could you please explain how you import m2ts (Mpeg Transport Stream) into Adobe Premiere or Premiere Elements ?

I connect my HDR-SR1 using USB cable and turn it on. It shows up a Removeable Disk K. I simply copy files from there to a folder on my "C"
drive.
I start a newproject in Adobe Premier and import media from Files & Folders. It works..........
You just have to make sure your project is set up for H264 1080i standard. When the project is done, I export to DVD for reg. def output or Blu-Ray disk for MPEG2, 1080i output.
Regards......

How do you set the project up as H264 1080i. I have tried to preset as NTSC-HDV-HDV-1080I-30 and I have not been able to import the mt2s file. Is there something else that I need to do?
Additionally I am using a Sony HDR-UX1

This a hoax ! Adobe Premiere CS3, After Effects CS3 and Elememnts don't work with AVCHD (mts &m2ts) files.

Check the Adobe website.

The only way I know to import and edit raw AVCHD .m2ts files into Premiere Pro CS3 without first transcoding is to use the MainConcept MPEG Pro HD v3.2 plug-in.

I am not sure that this plugin is not transcoding. I use V3.1 and it makes out of a 1920X1080 AVCHD file a 1440X1080 HD project.

I burnt a Blu-Ray disc yesterday from HDR-SR1 1440x1080i video after editing in Adobe Elements Premier. I tried out putting MPEG2 but that did not work. H264 1080i setting worked well.
