Unhappy Ulead VS 11+ Won't Capture!

I've been having a lot of trouble with getting video editing software to work with my Sony HDR-HC7. Take a look at my thread, "HDV Capture Problems" on the Sony Vegas forum.

These are both trial versions of the software and I am attempting to evaluate them. With Ulead VS 11, there are two main problems: There is no Help file/tutorials (an error message says "help file not installed"). And THE BIGGIE: The app will not capture from my camcorder at all. When I attempt to capture, the app immediately hangs up and becomes unresponsive. Anyone have any ideas as to why?

My computer appears to be meeting the system requirements:

Core Duo processor, 1.73 ghz; 1GB RAM; NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600
Driver: nv4_mini.sys; two 100GB HDDs. Both have plenty of space on them.

Before I forget, apparently I am not eligible for help from Corel/Ulead cuz this is a trial version. So I am stuck.

Any help will be appreciated!

Hi,
The help files are intentionally left out to reduce the download size of the trial. You can get them at the Corel/Ulead site but...I don't think there will be much help in there for your specific problem.
Go to the Corel VS forum and post the problem there.
Give it a meaningful title to attract attention and put "to etech" in the title. He is the resident HD guy over there.

Make sure you fill in your system specs and also as much info as possible per the "Read Before Posting" entry there lest you get ignored!
