h18 dilema, please help
I bought the h18 for my grandfather in law as a christmas present. As it turned out, it was way too advanced for him. Hes used to the tape recorders where he can record the whole tape onto the computer at once. Is there anyway I can make it so the video files are joined together instead of being seperated?
Also, what video editor would you recommend for this type of camcorder. The software that comes with the package is kind of incompetent.

AFAIK, only JVC tapeless camcorders have FireWire output for folks like your dad. But copying files via USB is so much simpler than messing with tape. Since your father knows how to work with computer, he knows the notion of directories and files. This is what a tapeless camcorder is: an external drive with video files, how simpler can it be?
Almost any software can edit standard definition MPEG-2. The choice depends on wallet size and personal preferences.

my grandfather in law does not know how files and directories work! for example, if you put him on C:\, he will not know how to get to the Picture folder in My Document
He does not know how to arrange the files by Date Modified, therefor it is difficult for him to arrange all the files according to the time it was made.
Yes i know the guy is impossible, but hes also 76 year old
So there is no way I can import all the video files as a joined video?
