HVL-10NH and HC96?
I notice the HVL-10NH seems to come with one of those bars you attach to the tripod thread.
Butm it appears to have a sony shoe on the bottom. Can I connect this light to the top of my HC96 and HC3 without using one of those clunky bars?

no, its nota an AIS (acitve interface shoe), its a normal cold shoe. you have to use the bar.
