trouble converting VRO files........

hi, i have just bought a SONY HANDYCAM DCR-DVD905.
i am having trouble importing video to my computer..... for start, i couldnt get the computer to see that the camera was connented through the USB... so i finalized the disc, and tried importing them from the cd drive.

all the pictures i take on the camera, import easily..... but video will not open in any editing programs i have... i think i need to convert the file from VRO to something else..... I have nero 8, is there any way i can convert the file with this program?
any help will be appreachiated...
thanks,
DAN.

Hi
If you already have Nero8 then you should be able to use the included NeroVision to convert your VRO files to mpeg2.
To do this open a new DVD project in NV and import your VRO files. Make sure to select "all files" otherwise you maight not see the VRO files in the file selection browser.
Once the files are imported press Export to export them as mpeg2 files. Make sure smartrendering is turned on(automatic) otherwise NV will reencode the VRO file which will degrade the video quality.
Hope that helps
