Using LANC remote with HC32

I have searched high and low in the forum hoping to find a clue to fixing this issue before I posted, but was unable.
What's happening: With the HC32 off, I have a helmetcam plugged in, and a Skytools v1.6 LANC remote plugged in. When I hit the LANC button, the light flashes red about 5 times then goes out, at the same time I can hear a "click" in the HC32.
My question:
Is there some type of setting I need to change in order to use the LANC remote? Or am I stuck putting the camera in PLAY/EDIT and using the touch screen to start recording?

Anyone else have this problem? Thanks to anyone who can school me up!

I’m not sure of exact setup for Skytools V1.6 as I have neither this camera nor the LANC. The most bullet cams go to the analog input of camcorder and record. The manual says that the LANC only works in VCR/Player mode with external video source (e.g. bullet camera). Doesn’t the LANC switch toggle between on/off?

kshrine:

what I think is going on is the LANC remote is faulty. I bought this off a friend who bought it from a friend, etc so getting a factory replacement probably isn't possible. I went ahead and ordered a new remote. We'll see if that solves the issue.

What you said is correct, the camcorder must be in the VCR/Play/Edit setting in order to using the bulletcam. I was hoping there were some settings I could change in the camera itself so that I could use the normal "RECORD" switch instead of having to use the touch screen to enable recording from the bulletcam, or to enable use of a LANC remote. I've scoured the user's manual with no success.

I've seen on here that folks have the same setup and their LANC works jsut fine. So I know this is a workable cam/bulletcam combo. Just need to figure out how. Ha Ha. Thanks again for the reply!
