Talking Case for DCR-SR300

I just ordered my new Sony DCR-SR300. I'm looking for case suggestions. I travel to California once a month for a week so I'd like someting I can carry on the plane along with my Laptop backpack. I'd like it light but protective. What does everybody use? Thanks.

I have the SR100 which is similar to yours. Before getting a case, do you plan on getting additional lenses or other accessories? I went down to best buy and looked at cases and grabed one that fits my camcorder, 2 lenses, extra battery pack and manual. Think it was 30 bucks. Works just fine.

Thanks

Thanks, I checked Best Buy and they have several possibilities. My camera is on a UPS truck and "Out For Delivery" so I should have it this evening. I'll hit Best Buy this weekend. I can't wait to start filming!!

Editing

I have Studio 10.5 loaded on my computer along with Roxio 9. Over the last couple of years I've been converting many of my VHS tapes to digital. I've used Studio and it's okay but I have run into lockups after rendering for 2 hours. Grrrrr. I have read and researched on this board and others and I downloaded ULEAD 11 Plus. I've just started using it and the interface seems good. I was going to try it for a while before I bought it but Amazon had it for $77.00 free shipping and a Corel $30.00 rebate so I ordered it. What the heck it's $47.00. I'm going to see if I can find some tutors to help with the learning curve. What do you use?

Started with a 24 inch iMac and iMovie. Now i use my mac pro and still learning final cut express. I use mpeg stream clip to convert to dv, then import. Go find a book on unlead or just play with it to figure out. How much memory do you have in your computer? Am thinking not enough for causing lockups. Are you using a scratch disc?

Randy,
For now I'm just using my 3 year old Dell. It has a 3Mhz processor and only 1gb RAM. I think that is part of the problem and LONG rendering times. My daughter gave me her old Dell (newer thatn mine). It has Duo Core Intel processor and 2gb RAM. I'm thinking of using it as my "editing" computer but I need to upgrade the Video card and get a second HD. I think that system will be much better since it will be dedicated to Editing. I played with Ulead last night and made a short video by trial and error, I think it will work well. I think I'll hit Barnes and Nobel today and see if they have a Book on Ulead. I have a week long business trip to LA in March and an Alaskan Cruise in May.

The core duo will work fine. Max out the ram and get a scratch disk, fastest you can afford. USB will get you by but I would suggest firewire for faster transfer. I haven't used Ulead but check the documentation to see if it uses the GPU or CPU to render. If CPU, then you won't need a high speed graphics card.

I had an issue with VideoStudio when I tried to apply patches. It now doesn't play sound on the Sony Clips. I have a question about it on this board and the Corel board. I'm still planning on moving to my second computer but I need to find a monitor first. I had it connected with a KVM switch at one time but it didn't like it. Thanks for all your suggestions!
