help - sr300 video in indoor lighting is bad. recommendations?

happy with everything about my new sr300 except... the indoor light performance is horrible and is full of signal noise. i need better lower light camera performance since most footage will be indoors.

(1) can i improve things by moving to another camera, or is the sr300 good, bad, average compared to other cameras?
(2) any suggestions for a consumer camera that would be better in low light (any format, HD/nonHD, doesn't matter)? other sony cams? other cams?

i'd especially be interested hearing opinions from people who have compared this camera to other cameras - maybe i'm just being too critical?

thanks,
Mark

I have the lower version of yours, the SR100 and can tell you either to learn to adjust light indoors for better shots or get a different camcorder. I purchased the attachable light but found its to bright on close ups. From what I have read and understand, if your going to use standard def, get a 3 ccd for better low light or go high def BUT do your research first. Check reviews, ask folks who have the cam for there opinion. Not all cams are created equal. My biggest gripe on mine is the jaggies on fast moving objects. Otherwise mine shoots great vids.

thanks

thanks for the reply and info.

i'm learning to be more aware of lighting and it has improved my video performance. overall, a great camcorder but indoor shooting suffers some.

i'm on the fence right now as to whether to keep it or return it (still have another week to decide).

I don't have any experience with the SR100, but my SR82 has never had much trouble with indoor or low light conditions. In fact, I was rather amazed at how well it performed recently in a room at night lit with only a few candles. (Hey, when the power goes off, I look for anything to amuse myself, and a battery-powered camcorder seemed like a good thing to experiment with.) Maybe I'm just lucky, or don't understand the issue, but is low-light generally considered a common problem?

200 vs. 300 in low light?

Does the 200 perform any better in low light? I know the 200 lacks in image stabilization
