Invisible add on lights for camcorders

Hello guys,
I have maybe a silly question.

We alll know that sony models have the capability to see at 0 lux , using IR leds that emitts ray that are invidible to the human eye amd also having the capability to be sensible to a wider light spectrum.

I was wondering, is there any way to use some kind of lights for normal camcorders (camcorders that do not have the night shot feature,IR sensitivity), so that they can use more light to get better videos in low light situations ?

When I talk about this lights, I mean , lights that do not emitt a visible ray (visible to the human eye,so I guess IR or else), something similar to the IR leds, but that can be usefull for NON nightshot camcorders ??

I hope I make sense and that this is not fantascience.
thank u

Most camcorders have built in infrared filters to prevent unwanted exposure due to the infrared that is present in the light spectrum. Because of this, those cams do not work well with external IR light sources. The cams just filter it out as the do with naturally occurring IR.

Good luck.
