Which is better (Movie Factory 6+ or Video Studio 11+)

I want to be able to render HDV from my HD camcorder and burn the HD content to a regular DVD in HD so that it will play on my PS3. Will both do this? Thanks!

I know that VS11+ will do that. I have been to the Ulead website and it is not really clear as to whether MF6+ will do it although I suspect it can. Maybe someone will come on to the board and confirm.

You could also go to the Ulead forum and post there under the MF6 board and I am sure someone will actually know the answer.

If they both can do it then the choice comes down to what you want to do.
VS11+ is an editing program first and foremost with reasonable DVD burning and authoring capabilities.
MF6+ is mainly a DVD burning and authoring program that also has some editing capabilities.

Both MF6+ and VS 11.5+ do all that you will need. I find VS easier to use, but MF has better openings settings and the dvd options are easier to navigate. MF also has better timeline editing in that you can see frame by frame and get perfect timing on your edited footage.

I capture in VS because I found that capturing in MF gave me choppy footage. I don't know why, but VS seems to capture smoother. So after I share my files, I open MF and finish the dvd there.

I wish I had days to play with VS, but I don't. If you'd like to see a music video I did in mpeg1 format, you can go to my husband's website at www.jaycooperrocks.com and it's on the opening page.
