Anyone own/try/compare ZR800 vs. Panasonic GS85?

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some thoughts on a comparison between these two.

I have a ZR800 which I recently purchased but the noisy picture I get when shooting inside was just terrible for me - it almost looks like there is a setting that is incorrect or that I am watching a converted PAL tape!

Anyway, I'm on a budget and am just looking for comparisons or suggestions if anyone has them - thanks!

Cheers!

I have a ZR800 and an Elura 100. The video is noisy inside, but I use it for outside shots which I think are fairly good. But, I guess you get what you pay for.

I have a MD120 (PAL version of the ZR800) and it takes good videos-I don't mind about any noises.

ZR800 vs. GS80

I recently spent a day doing a few hours of complicated shooting with my ZR800, mostly in outdoor settings, but also with some indoor recording involved.

My ZR800 had been sitting in my office for well over a year, and I decided on the spur of the moment to use it instead of the Panasonic GS80 (virtually the same camera as the GS85) that I also own, because frankly, I find the Panasonic lacking in certain key features that I need. I won't be keeping the Panasonic GS80 anyway.

The results from the Canon ZR800 far exceeded my expectations for such an inexpensive camcorder, I am very happy that I chose to use it, and I will use it again soon.

However, let me point out that my shooting did not involve any sounds or voices, since the built-in microphone of the ZR series cameras clearly seem to be their weakest feature. My taping that day was later edited and music was completely recorded over the camera soundtrack.

In any case, my experience was obviously a very good one based on the use of the camera and the visual results, but as the saying goes, "Your mileage may vary."
