sonys cant use tele lens?
a while ago i got a generic 2x telephoto lens for my camcorder. unfortunately, at the end of the zoom the image was completely unusable. there was massive flare and i couldnt focus around it. i tried it on sonys ccd-trv308, dcr-trv120, and dcr-hc38 with all the same results.
just today i was going thru my stuff and tried it on a canon elura 50 and the image was perfect at full zoom. absoluetly flawless.
3 models of sonys, a Hi8, Digi8 and minidv, all with different ccd sizes, resolution, and zooms all gave the same horrible result. but on a canon it was flawless. what gives?

Try a lens reccomended for your model of Sony camcorder. They exist. I don't recall the exact models. Sony makes some. Raynox is another brand.

well i bit the bullet and got a sony brand tele 2x and it work nicely. autofocus doesnt work too well if the view isnt consistent, but manual focus solves that. oh yeah, $10 on ebay  |
