Canon ZR 900 series
I am looking at buying a Zr900 or 930 but I want to read some reviews first. I know that this site does not have a review yet for any of the cameras. When are they supposed to have a review for the cameras? and are there any other reviews I can find some where else?

Last year's 800 series review should be a close match.

I've searched the web and have yet to see any substantial reviews of the ZR900.

they couldn't care less
they're too busy with all the HD corders that are coming on the market. I'm interested in a ZR930; couldn't care less about taking still pictures. And I like the idea of a mic input, which is only on the 900 and 930, but not the 950.

I may break down and buy a ZR900 soon, if for no other reason than the top-loading tape mechanism. I've had a few cams in the ZR series and have been pretty happy with them. The main complaints I read around the 'net about the ZR cams (bad sound from the built-in mike and/or a fuzzy image under low light) haven't been a big issue for me.
If I do pick up a ZR900, I'll report back and share some thoughts on it.

You're right, Gene_77. Everyone is HD hardware crazy, whether it be camcorders or TV sets. Well, that's fine if one has unlimited funds left over after meeting the day-to-day living expenses (rent, utilities, food, gas, clothing), to spend on new equipment, but for many of us, HD cams are not an option and unlikely to be for a long, long time. I for one am in no hurry whatsover to buy an HD TV or an HD camcorder.
