How to - create red 'glow' (as used in snowboard 16mm movies)

Hi there.

Is there a way to create the coloured 'glow' type effect in Final Cut Pro. It's used in loads of 16mm sports films and I think might be known as 'burn out' (that could be completely wrong though)

A rubbish example is on this video at 01:59:

I'm sure there are better examples but I can't find any.

Any help would be great.

Cheers.

Maybe try the color correction filter and pull the color to red using key frames. Or take a red layer in photoshop (720x480) with the opacity down. Or try the "Bloom" filter. You can do a lot with bloom...

You might also want to try getting a little more "organic" by searching through some of the free LiveType Media bundled in Final Cut Studio / FC Express and finding a Texture to tint. There's some cool stuff in there. Then just follow Chadfish's advice and vary the opacity or color correct to your liking.

Hope this helps,
